Mike Foley, founder of Firefighters Vs Cancer, is the guest on my show, "It's All Write With Suzette," a 30 minute show about writers and their books on Milton Access TV. Foley is a retired lieutenant with the Boston Fire Department and a third-generation firefighter (his son Tim makes it a fourth generation firefighting family!).
The purpose of Firefighters Vs Cancer is to raise public awareness about the higher rate of occupational cancer among firefighters, with a goal to get early cancer screening kits by OneTest to them.
To that purpose, Firefighters vs Cancer is hosting a comedy fundraiser on Saturday night, May 10 at Milton High School in Milton, MA to give firefighters at the Milton fire stations free early detection kits.

Foley is the author of Busy as Hell, a book that captures stories from the "war years" of Boston's firefighting scene, 1960 to 1980. His second book, Busy as Hell 2, details the history of the busiest firefighing years in Boston (1963-1983).
